"The process of adopting accrual basisIPSASis mostrelevanttonew clients and most interesting for me.This is where ourtraining candeliver tangible benefits. Itinvolvesa wide rangeof technical accounting issues andcomplex options and reliefsin a new standard, IPSAS 33 First-time Adoption of Accrual Basis IPSAS, which is effective from 2017.

But first-time adoption goes far beyond accounting. As a change management project, first-time adoption affects many other functions of governments and agencies: preparers must develop project plans to refine information systems and implement IPSAS. As trainers, we must engage closely with each delegate's organisation and help it, in practical ways,to make the changes."

Favourite IPSAS Topics

"I have worked with public sector clients in the UK for many years and have assisted central and local government with change management relating to the roll out of new financial systems and processes and to address issues where existing concepts, processes and procedures are not well embedded in organisations, for example revenue collection, achieving value for money and procure to pay procedures.

When working with IPSAS while I like the intellectual challenge of accounting for technical areas of employee benefits and financial instruments I particularly enjoy those standards that impact upon day to day operations such as controlling the acquisition of fixed assets and the recent developments in the RPG's where we can link the accounting to the efficient delivery of services."

Client Feedback

The course provided a thorough explanation of IPSAS with very clear and extensive explanation, materials and examples. An extremely knowledgeable trainer provided punctual answers to all questions put forward. Excellent on the whole.
