Wednesday 8 May 2019

Still undecided on where to go for the latest IASeminars courses this summer? Well something special is happening in the UK this summer which may lean you towards London!

After four long years of waiting, The ICC Cricket World Cup is back, this time across England and Wales with some particularly tasty fixtures taking place in London. What better way to reward yourself or your team after a day of learning than to watch one of the biggest sporting events of the calendar year.

If it’s US GAAP that you’re after then our two day course on derivatives and hedging is perfect. Starting on the 12th June, this course includes a review of significant accounting policies and necessary disclosures, in accordance with the pronouncements of:

  • The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
  • The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC)
  • The Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF)

You could then spend some down time in London before watching Sri Lanka vs Australia on Saturday 15th June at the magnificent KIA Oval stadium in South London.

We also have a three-day course on IFRS fundamentals for upstream oil and gas starting on 19th June. This course will look at how IFRS 6 is being applied to exploration and evaluation activities, which development costs are capitalised and look at alternative approaches to the depletion, depreciation and amortisation of oil and gas assets.

Just a few days later at the world famous Lord’s Cricket stadium the nail biting England vs Australia will be taking place on Tuesday 25th of June. This is set to be an epic match and a great way to celebrate finishing the course!

If you’re looking for a course on IPSAS then this eight day Immersion course starting on the 15th July is perfect for you.

The fee for this unique event includes:

  • 8 days of formal tuition by some of our most senior instructors
  • Full set of course materials (including case studies, illustrations and examples) - hard and soft copies
  • An iPad Mini which you can use for research during and after the course
  • A local sightseeing tour
  • Lunch and refreshments on every teaching day
  • Farewell dinner and class photographs

What better way to start the course than to watch the Final of the ICC Cricket World Cup in London on Sunday 14th July. What’s more, you can watch the spectacle in the historic setting of Trafalgar Square with thousands of cricket fans in the fanzone. There will be activities, music and food in what is set to be an unbelievable day of cricket history.

We have plenty of other courses on in London around the time of the Cricket World Cup, so head to the Capital for some amazing sporting events as well only the best in accounting courses from IASeminars
