- Chris Boland
Chris Boland (CPA, CA, CMA) is a professional IFRS consultant specializing in assisting clients with their transition from Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the application of new IFRS Standards. Chris has assisted over 45 clients in IFRS implementations and in most industries and sectors. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Canadian Chartered Accountant, and also holds the Certified Management Accountant designation. Chris has extensive experience with matters such as IFRS, SOX, anti-fraud measures and corporate governance. Prior to establishing his public practice and teaching career, Chris was General Manager (Accounting, IFRS, Internal Controls and Tax) at Canada Post Corporation. His earlier positions at other organizations included being CFO and VP Finance; Director of Tax and Treasury, Controller; Manager of Financial Reporting and Controller (Overseas Operations); Manager of Financial Reporting; and Budget Analyst. He was also an Auditor at the Office of the Auditor General. Chris’ 23 years of experience included 12 years in the Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Silicon Valley North Telecommunication hardware and software industry (semiconductor industry, Mitel Corporation, OSS software, Eftia OSS, photonic design and software, Optiwave).
- Susan Thetford
Susan Thetford is an international instructor and consultant specialising in the implementation and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). A specialist in bank accounting issues, she has presented conferences, seminars and workshops in over 20 countries, including the USA, the UK, France, Switzerland, Mongolia, countries in Central Asia, Ukraine, Brazil, Canada, UAE, several countries in Africa, and Bosnia. As well as teaching for IASeminars and others, Susan has written IFRS technical material for a major US publisher. She is a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and was previously the Regional Accountant for a Federal banking regulator in the USA. Prior to that she was a Senior Audit Manager with Deloitte & Touche, working with clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, financial institutions, manufacturing, hospitality, broker/dealers, and oil and gas exploration and development. Susan is a former Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs.
