Anthony J. Menendez is an independent consultant providing advice and training on US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). Tony has developed, coordinated, and taught technical GAAP courses around the world, and he is a recognized expert in matters involving revenue recognition and consolidation of variable interest entities. Furthermore, Tony is a professional accounting consultant working on complex shareholder derivative and securities fraud class actions, usually involving securities laws violations and accounting malpractice. He is a former Director of technical accounting and training at Halliburton, a Fortune 100 company. Prior to that, he was an audit executive with Ernst & Young, where he focused on emerging growth market clients. Mr. Menendez has been involved in professional accounting and finance matters relating to litigation, audit, and financial management for over 13 years. During that time, he has been involved in numerous complex business transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, business combinations, the implementation of complex FASB and SEC reporting rules, and the successful implementation, compliance, and reporting phases of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 Section 404.
