- Alan Mayo
Alan Mayo is a highly experienced instructor in the field of international financial reporting. He teaches seminars around the world on subjects including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). Alan is a UK chartered accountant with over 20 years of experience as an auditor and consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in both London and Paris. He was formerly a founding member of the PwC Client Training business in London, which delivered UK and international GAAP courses to a wide range of multinational clients. Alan also managed a team within PwC that provided training and change management support to the UK public sector as it transitioned from cash to accruals based accounting, working with organizations such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence. An independent training consultant since 2001, Alan has been an associate instructor with IASeminars since 2004. His recent public-sector consultancy work has focused on developing the financial management skills of UK government agencies, and advising them during transition from UK to IFRS or IPSAS-based accounting standards. Alan’s clients at IASeminars have included the United Nations, The Auditor General Of Canada, and various governmental agencies from around the world.
- Allan Lombard
Allan Lombard is a South African Chartered Accountant with extensive practical experience in the implementation and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). Allan has presented at numerous conferences, seminars and workshops across Southern Africa, the United Kingdom and Mauritius. His main areas of expertise are the manufacturing and agricultural industries, and his experience covers a wide range of entities, including multinational listed companies, public sector entities and SMEs. Allan's work with the SME sector also includes his current management of a project to develop an accounting framework for limited-purpose financial statements that will be adopted by the Eastern Central and Southern African Federation of Accountants (ECSAFA). Allan is a member of several technical sub-committees of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), where his work includes commenting on IASB exposure drafts. He also represented the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors of South Africa (IRBA) on the Accounting Practices Board (APB) - the official standard-setting body of South Africa. Allan previously worked for KPMG, where as an audit manager he advised on the implications of IFRS for almost 10 years and audited farming and other large agricultural entities. Whilst at KPMG, Allan also delivered IFRS training courses and he has been a lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
