He specializes in providing assistance to companies in the public markets, and also in helping private companies to become public either through direct IPOs or through reverse mergers. His professional experience includes technical research on US GAAP and IFRS, as well as the application of Canadian GAAP to complex transactions.
As one of the Collins Barrow IFRS thought leaders, Maruf assists a number of companies in the USA and Canada with their IFRS convergence process. He is currently a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) IFRS Discussion Group, and is also on the Ontario Securities Commission's Financial Reporting Advisory Committee. Maruf has also spoken on behalf of the Toronto Stock Exchange as part of their US roadshow.
